Dragon Scales is an expandable system of geometrically-surfaced low-resolution LED panels. Cardstock shells are shingled and embedded with LEDs, hiding the LED bulbs from direct view while also diffusing their glowing light. This system of light-diffusing shells combined with pixel-mapped LEDs results in a display system that acts as a 'blurring machine' that physically and digitally applies visual effects to inputed animations, videos, and images.
